Executive Leadership
Gerry P. Smith was named Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors in February 2017. Previously, Smith served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Lenovo Group Limited and served in a number of senior executive roles across Lenovo’s business. Smith joined Lenovo in 2006 and was instrumental in the company’s growth to become the largest personal computer (PC) company. He was also a leader in building the company’s global brand recognition and expansion during the past decade. In his role as Executive Vice President, he was responsible for operations across Lenovo’s global product portfolio. Previously as Chief Operating Officer of the Personal Computing Group and Enterprise Business Group, he led Lenovo to the top position in world-wide PC sales and as President of the Americas, he led Lenovo’s America’s Group to record market share and profits. He also served as Senior Vice President of Lenovo’s Global Supply Chain, where his leadership was recognized by leading research firm, Gartner, in ranking Lenovo’s supply chain among the best in the world.
Prior to Lenovo, Smith held executive positions at Dell, Inc. from 1994 until 2006, as the company became a global leader in PCs. During his tenure, he built the Dell Singapore Design Center and led Dell to the leading market position in flat panels as Vice President and General Manager of Displays. He is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University.
David Centrella was named Executive Vice President of The ODP Corporation and President of ODP Business Solutions, a leading B2B solutions provider serving small, medium and enterprise level companies, including the contract sales channel of ODP’s prior Office Depot Business Solutions Division, in May 2022. In this role, Centrella is responsible for core B2B sales and operations across all customer segments and vertical markets, including through Grand & Toy and ODP’s Federation Entities.
Centrella joined the Company in 1998 and has over 30 years of experience in Finance, Merchandising, Sales and Sales Operations. In his past roles, Centrella served as Sr. Vice President of Merchandising Operations, where he led and managed vendor relations, pricing and promotional strategies, Sr. Vice President of Print and Services, where he led the Company’s $1B multi-channel Print and Services business, and Sr. Vice President of BSD Field Sales, where he took on the additional responsibility of leading BSD’s Sales Operations team. Most recently David served as Sr. Vice President of FP&A where he also led several key companywide initiatives, including the Separation Management Office associated with the Company’s strategic review of its consumer business.
Centrella holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Florida’s Fisher School of Accounting.
John W. Gannfors was named Executive Vice President of The ODP Corporation and President of Veyer, a provider of best-in-class supply chain, sourcing and purchasing services specializing in B2B and B2C service delivery, in September 2022. In this role, Gannfors is responsible for leading all aspects of Veyer operations, domestic and international supply chain, transportation, and logistics including global sourcing and purchasing. Previously, Gannfors served as Executive Vice President, Chief Merchandising and Supply Chain Officer, and also served as Executive Vice President Transformation, Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain.
Gannfors is a global leader with a proven track record of creating immediate value in diverse organizations by driving strategy and strategic alignment, effective operational business transformation and strategic sourcing initiatives. He joined The ODP Corporation after nearly ten years at Lenovo Group Limited, where he was instrumental in driving business results as a key leader in its Data Center Group Global Supply Chain and as its Chief Procurement Officer.
Prior to joining Lenovo, he spent 12 years in leadership roles at Dell. Gannfors began his career in Product Management at Lockheed Martin’s Calcomp division, as well as Definicon Systems. Gannfors earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California Lutheran University.
Adam Haggard was appointed as our Co-Chief Financial Officer in December of 2024. Mr. Haggard has been with the Company for more than 20 years in various roles in the Accounting and Finance departments. His most recent positions have been Senior Vice President of FP&A, preceded by his tenures as Vice President of FP&A and Real Estate Development, Vice President of FP&A, and Senior Director of Retail Real Estate and Supply Chain.
Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Haggard began his career at a mid-sized auditing firm.
Max Hood was appointed as our Co-Chief Financial Officer in December of 2024. Previously, he served as our Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer & Controller from February 2023. Mr. Hood joined us in 2018 as Vice President in Accounting, including oversight of Treasury between March 2021 and August 2022. Prior to joining us, Mr. Hood had several roles at GE between 2010 and 2018, with the latest being the Global Operations Controller for its Energy Connections division. Mr. Hood began his career at Deloitte & Touche LLP as part of their Audit & Assurance practice for nine years. Mr. Hood is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Sarah E. Hlavinka was named Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary in July 2022. Previously, Hlavinka served as General Counsel of Office Depot, LLC from April 2022 to July 2022. Hlavinka leads the strategic direction of the legal organization and operations, plus manages regulatory and compliance matters for the company.
Hlavinka has over 30 years of experience as an advisor and business executive with broad-based experience and legal background in the technology, service, manufacturing and healthcare industries. Prior to joining The ODP Corporation, Hlavinka served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Itron, Inc. Prior to Itron, Inc., she served in a similar role at Xerox. Previously, she served in various legal roles in companies across a broad range of disciplines.
Hlavinka received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her B.A. from Texas A&M University.
Zoë Maloney was named Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer in November 2021. In this role, Maloney is responsible for leading the development of human resources strategies and initiatives in support of business objectives to drive overall company results. She partners with the Executive Committee and key leadership to create and implement strategies for organization and leadership effectiveness, talent and change management, total rewards, employee relations and culture. She also oversees the company’s community investment programs and initiatives.
Maloney joined The Office Depot Corporation in February 2005 and has more than 25 years of experience in communications, organization and leadership development, and human resources. Prior to joining Office Depot, Maloney served in various management positions at Johnson & Johnson, 3-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals, and CDI International.
Maloney holds a Master of Arts in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Sociology from Towson University.
Kevin Moffitt was named Executive Vice President of The ODP Corporation and President of Office Depot, a leading omnichannel retailer dedicated to helping small business owners, home office workers, teachers, parents and students accomplish more, focus on their passions and reach their full potential, in September 2022. In this role, Moffitt is responsible for reimagining the company’s retail business and collaborating across the executive team to solidify the company’s growth strategy leveraging its retail footprint. Additionally, he is responsible for developing innovative business strategies that tap into our compelling assets to disrupt the market.
Moffitt, who joined The ODP Corporation in July 2012, has over 20 years of experience in omnichannel and e-commerce business management. Previously, Moffitt served as Executive Vice President, Chief Retail Officer, and also served as Chief Digital Officer, where he was responsible for the Direct business P&L and created a world-class online experience for the company’s customers. Additionally, he was responsible for building the company’s digital platforms and identifying new ways to accelerate growth online, along with mobile and new digital services. Earlier in his career, Moffitt held leadership roles at Dillard’s Department Stores, Circuit City Stores and Putnam Investments.
Moffitt earned a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Leadership from the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond. He also holds a Master of Arts in History, Documentary Filmmaking from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts from Pepperdine University.
